Morning Light, 2003
Italian Alabaster.
At a show where I could demonstrate carving, I had a large
block of translucent white Itailian Alabaster out as a sample.
A young girl - barely able to see above the table - tapped the
stone and asked what it was. I had no idea yet, so I asked her
what she saw. "It's a bear," she said. I looked again, and she was
right. It was the next piece I carved.
