The barbecue is our only fund raiser and with the money we collect we upgrade our equipment and enhance our training. One of the big purchases with funds from last year's barbecue was new defibrillators, which are now in service on our engines. In years past, we've used this funding to purchase auto extrication gear, and our rescue vehicle that sees use at medical aids and and vehicle accidents. Hopefully you can tell this is important, and we're counting on you to come out again this year.
If you need more reasons to join us, there's the raffle, with lots of great prizes. There's also the grand prize drawing. The prize this year is your choice of three days at Disneyland for a family of 4, or a week in beautiful Belize for two. Both include airfare and lodging. Tickets for the grand prize can be purchased from any volunteer, and cost $5 each or 5 for $20. You'll find us selling tickets at the Summit Store during most of May, and some tickets will be available at the barbecue itself if you can't find us there.
