I'm a software engineer with a broad background. I've done most everything from largish systems development to internal tools, including:

development
configuration management
configuration management tools
release engineering
installation
WWW work
first line management
system architecture
3rd party integration in complex systems

I find I enjoy life most when my customers are down the hall, rather than at the other end of some mysterious "sales pipe". Alternatively, it's good if my customers are obvious -- doing things that I do on a regular basis. Those preferences have lead me to working in the above areas (some for obvious reasons... others less so) where my customers are (usually) close at hand.
