This bowl is carved from one of the most translucent pieces of
white, Italian alabaster I have ever worked. It's very thin and
delicate which shows off the stone to best effect. I didn't even
felt the bottom because it would have shown through the stone.
As with all alabaster, it will disolve in water over time, so its use is purely decorative. Anything put in the bowl needs to be soft, non-scratching, and non-staining. Approximage dimensions: 5" wide, 4" deep, and a bit over 3" tall. Sold. |
