First Flight

First Flight First Flight First Flight
First Flight was carved from a scrap cut off the end of the stone that also gave me white alabaster bowl.

It was basically an experiment in how thin I could push a bit of stone as part of the composition. The photos don't show it particularly well, but the vertical wing is very, very thin. That accents the lovely, translucent alabaster.

The base is waxed black walnut.

Dimensions: Approximately 8 inches tall.

Sold.
