Standing in the background are 2 directors (referees) and Phil Gerring, who will fence the winner of my bout with Mark. He's scoping me out to see what my weaknesses are. Phil has fenced Mark a lot I think, but he's only seen me once, nearly a year before, and I was in bad shape that day. Phil's an analytical fencer, so he watches other bouts closely and plans his strategy in advance.
