This is my point. Jere's advancing or starting a coupe (which might explain his blade being way up in the air like that). I've stepped into his attack and gone into the low line, hitting him on the thigh. Note that my light (the green square, just below my bell guard) is on. My touch.

This is the last photo of my bout with Jere. He got ahead of me in the bout. I brought it back to 9/9, and won 10/9 in the end. Defeating Jere is a lot of work, and I was astounded that it happened. He'll probably take me apart in our next competition meeting, but I always enjoy fencing him.

The odd thing that happened after I won this bout was Tom telling me that I'd earned my B rating, and that I was now in the round of 4. I'd expected to stink like rotten fish at this competition, so Tom's statements didn't make a lot of sense to me. I heard the words, but they just didn't mean anything for a while.
